General meeting

Our speaker in October will be Peter Foiles, speaking on Proper Exposure in the Digital Age.

At its core, photography is about capturing light. So if you want to be a photographer with a complete command of your craft then you need to have a basic understanding of how to capture light. In the age of digital that means understanding how a sensor works and if you shot film how a sensor is not quite the same. It also means understanding how a light meter works and how and how to use a histogram to judge the quality of your exposure. Hopefully, by the end of the presentation you will have a deeper understanding of how light is captured in the digital age and more confidence in your knowledge of the craft of photography.
