Lightroom to the Rescue!
Recent improvements to Lightroom have made it easier to correct and enhance pictures that otherwise were destined for the discard pile. Colin will review some of the new improvements in Lightroom’s Masking and Remove Tool features. He will then demonstrate using Lightroom how he has used these new features to ‘rescue’ and enhance several of his own images. In addition, using some of the images taken on his recent trip to Africa, he will show how the masking tools can be used to create ‘Low Key’ images.
Colin has an engineering background and has held technical and managerial roles in the field of Medical Imaging (e.g. MRI systems). His interest in photography started in the 50s using his dad's Kodak bellows film camera and their darkroom (bathroom) and home-built enlarger. On Colin’s retirement 15 years ago, his interest in photography was rekindled and he joined DPCA and purchased his first digital camera, an Olympus micro-4/3 EM-1. He and his wife Cheryl traveled extensively in their RV and produced a weekly photography travel blog. His main focus is travel/wildlife photography and they recently returned from a two week Safari in Africa and are planning trips to New Zealand and the Brazil Pantanal in ’26 and ’27. You can see some of his images on his website at maczeropix.com.
Colin and his wife have other retirement hobbies. The last time they visited Millers Grant was to play a concert with Cheryl playing the flute and Colin, the Northumbrian Small-pipes.
The meeting will be at The Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant, 9100 Fathers Legacy, Ellicott City, MD 21042 Learning Center, Terrace Level. Click here for a map:
